Darren Sinn

Eden Fruit Farm LLC

Darren Sinn is a third-generation farmer to be born and raised on his family farm in Silverton, Oregon and has been driving a tractor since the age of nine. The farm is in the shadow of Mount Hood and the summer snow melt provides the water to irrigate the farm and grow his favorite crop - blackberries. Oregon’s warm summer days and cool nights allow the blackberries to develop rich flavor and color that you cannot find anywhere else in the world.

Eden Fruit Farm is a multigenerational farm that grows premium products while also thinking about long term viability, and sustainability for the next 100 years. Eden Fruit Farm was one of the first farms to implement top food safety protocols. In 2020, they started a direct to consumer sales channel under the name Briar & Blossom, allowing customers to pick up fresh harvested fruit at the farm. Darren feels good knowing that his produce is the safest, healthiest food available straight from their farm to your table.

Family and community are as important to Darren as the berries. Part of their farm labor strategy is to hire teenagers to fill summer positions, he’s seen life-long relationships built on the berry picker crews. Those that don’t grow up in agriculture get a chance to experience farming and the sense of community that goes with it. For many of these young adults, that leaves a lasting impression.

After harvest, Darren and his family spend weekends exploring the bounty Oregon has to offer and enjoy Salmon fishing and crabbing on the Oregon Coast. Sundays are reserved for church where the family is active members.

Darren believes that nothing beats a sweet, tangy blackberry straight from the field.
