Blackberry Jalapeño Margarita

This bright and spicy Blackberry Jalapeño Margarita combines the best flavors of the season. Tangy, spicy margaritas make excellent glass-mates with fragrant Oregon blackberries. For added spicy kick, salt the glass rims with Jacobsen’s habanero salt.

Ingredients

½ Cup blackberries, plus 8 skewered
½ jalapeño, seeded
Ice
6 ounces reposado tequila
4 ounces Ancho Reyes chile liqueur
4 ounces fresh lime juice
3 ounces simple syrup

Preparation

Step 1
Muddle the blackberries and jalapeño in a shaker, then add remaining ingredients.

Step 2
Shake vigorously and strain into four glasses, then top with berry skewers.

Special Note:
If using frozen blackberries, skip skewering and allow the berries to thaw enough to muddle. Frozen blackberries and sliced lime or jalapeño can be added to the glasses for garnish.
