1½ LBs ground chicken
½ Cup minced chives
½ Cup dry breadcrumbs
1 egg
2 Tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon fine sea salt
1 Cup frozen blackberries, thawed
¼ Cup sugar
½ Cup hoisin sauce
2 Tablespoons sesame seeds
2 green onions, very thinly sliced on a diagonal
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450℉. Lightly oil a large baking sheet.
Step 2
In a large bowl combine chicken, chives, breadcrumbs, egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and salt. Use your hands to thoroughly mix the ingredients together.
Step 3
Measure out meat mixture in tablespoonfuls, and roll into balls. Place on baking sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165℉ and meatballs are browned.
Step 4
In a medium saucepan combine berries and sugar, Simmer until berries are juicy and soft, about 5 minutes. Strain through a fine mesh sieve and discard seeds. Return berry puree to saucepan and add hoisin. Heat gently and keep warm until meatballs are done.
Step 5
Brush meatballs with hoisin glaze, place on a serving platter, and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onion.
